Job Overview:

As a development engineer at Plex, you will work on a distributed, cross-functional team to build out new user functionality centered around the user experience and allow users to discover, experience, and share all of the entertainment that matters to them. This role will focus on development targeted around React Native for multiple clients across different platforms (including Apple, Android, mobile, tv, and others). The primary responsibilities include building new features and experiences for users as well as maintaining and rebuilding current features as needed.

What you’ll do

• You will build new experiences for the web with TypeScript and React Native
• You will help support and modernize existing features in the app
• You will contribute to our internal React Native design system to meet new requirements
• You will collaborate closely with Product and UX to shape new features and update existing features
• You will work with other client engineers to document and standardize features across all our apps

 What you bring to the table

• You have at least 5 years of experience building amazing user experiences
• You have experience with modern multi-platform frameworks (specifically React Native)
• You are familiar with the development and deployment of applications on mobile platforms (including iOS mobile, AppleTV, Android, and/or AndroidTV)
• You have experience managing complex app state in a single page app
• You have experience with a backend-for-frontend approach to application development
• You are detail-oriented and able to work independently on your own while maintaining great communication with teammates and stakeholders
• You are kind, humble, helpful and get stuff done
• You are self motivated and able to manage your time, working with a distributed team across the globe
• You believe in asking for help and helping others when they ask, never throwing a problem over the wall
• You are hungry to have an impact, continuously working to improve our product, process and push the team to be its best

 Remote Work

• Plex hires new team members in countries around the world.
• As such, Plex does not sponsor employment visas.
• All of our roles are remote, however some roles may carry specific location-based eligibility requirements. Our hiring team can help answer any questions about location after starting the recruiting process.
• Also, please note, though we largely work asynchronously, as it relates to meetings, those generally occur between UTC 1600 to UTC 1900

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US and Global geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $160,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, seniority, local currency and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
