Position Overview
The Tax Operations department is relied upon by all facets of the organization including sales, new client implementation, client support and finance. The Account Maintenance Team ensures the accuracy of client information, Tax Registration Service assists clients starting business operations in new tax jurisdictions and the Notice Team researches and resolves correspondence from tax agencies. The Tax Customer Care team is responsible for delivering positive business results and client experiences in each of these areas.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to provide scalable Account Maintenance, Registration Service & Notice Resolution solutions required to support growth and maintain high service levels.
- Provide guidance to leaders with teams responsible for ensuring that staff meets primary objectives as measured by established efficiency metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensure staff stays abreast of agency changes, resolution techniques and other pertinent agency issues
- Ensure a team of managers recruits, develops and oversees qualified staff responsible for the following;
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices from agencies
- Communicate with customers (written & verbal) to provide status updates and resolution to issues
- Prevent tax notices by developing projects designed to target specific known issues.
- Perform agency information exchanges and complete update requests to ensure client accounts are accurate.
- Deliver timely and outstanding service while registering clients for new tax jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate billing for tax registration activities and grow revenue to meet Fiscal Year targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes and deliverables.
- Keep up-to-date on latest developments as they affect tax regulations and policies.
- Partner with colleagues in Tax, and other related areas  (Service, Implementation, Finance) to ensure sound processes and high levels of customer service.
- Work cross-functionally and within the tax operations group to prepare and execute against Corporate initiatives.
- Establish narratives and executive level reports illustrating the Customer Care Organization’s performance to key metrics.
Requirements
- 15+ Years of Payroll Tax Experience, Payroll Tax Experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Mathematics or equivalent industry experience
- Leadership experience required
- Large Team Management required
- Payroll service bureau experience required
- Experience in a high-volume payroll tax department highly desirable
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skill desired
- Customer service or client-facing experience desired

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $117,091k – $171,172k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
